A Rockford family business since 1972.
Heritage started on Kishwaukee Street in 1972 and we've been a local fixture ever since. Today we still run one in-house crew, the same faces from the first day to the last, with no subcontractors rotating through your home.
We show up when we say, keep the work area clean, and treat the last room as carefully as the first. Most of our jobs still come from a neighbor recommending us to a neighbor.

It depends on the material you choose, the size of the space and how much prep the subfloor needs, which is why we measure in person rather than guessing over the phone. The measure is free, and you get a clear written quote within three business days. The price we quote is the price you pay: no day-of add-ons.
Most single rooms are done in a day or two. A whole floor, a tiled shower or a sand-and-refinish takes longer, mostly because of prep, setting and drying times. You get the schedule in writing with your quote, and we keep you posted every day the crew is in your home.
Usually, yes. Most solid hardwood and many engineered floors can be sanded back to bare wood, have damaged boards replaced, and be stained and sealed to look new, for far less than replacing them. We'll check the thickness of the wear layer at the measure and tell you honestly whether refinishing makes sense.
Quality LVP is waterproof, which is why it's our most-requested floor for kitchens, laundries and basements. The key is the subfloor: we test basement slabs for moisture and level any dips first, so the planks lock flat and stay that way.
You don't need to move out for most jobs. Let us know what furniture needs moving when we measure and we'll plan around it. For sand-and-refinish jobs you'll want to stay off the floor while the finish cures, and we'll give you the exact timing up front.
Every floor we install comes with a written 25-year finish warranty, handed to you on the last day along with care tips. If something isn't right with our work, you call the same local number and the same crew comes back to make it right.
